Neal Glover

Neal Glover has been interested in the practical application of finite fields  and error correcting codes for more than thirty years. He started two small businesses to provide products and services, relating to error correcting codes, to the magnetic and optical storage industries. From the late 1970’s through the early 1990’s he promoted the use of more powerful error correcting codes on hard drives.

Neal has taught short courses on error correcting codes and holds a number of patents in the field. He and Trent Dudley are the authors of the book Practical Error Correction Design for Engineers.

Recently Neal has been doing research on polynomial root finding in finite fields.

Neal enjoys programming in MATLAB® and "C" and has developed an extensive finite field function library for prototyping error correction algorithms in Matlab.  He uses Maple and Mathematica for symbolic computation.
